Because we know physical activity translates to student success both in the classroom and in life, we are proud to receive this honor for our entire school community’s efforts around enhancing physical education and physical activity opportunities for our students. Please give yourselves a hand for all your great work!

Great News For Families with Elementary-Age Students

We are pleased to inform you that Meade County Elementary and Primary Schools will be implementing a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for School Year 2016-2017

What does this mean for you and your elementary children?

All enrolled students of Meade County Elementary and Primary Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each day of the 2016-2017 school year.  Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. However, for other federal programs such as Title One and Family Resource/Youth Services, we ask you to complete the Household Income Form.

If we can be of any further assistance, please contact us at 270-422-7510 or email

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have installed a new MealViewer mobile app and web-viewer which is a major technology upgrade to bring our schools into the Digital Age where school nutrition is concerned. This technological mobile app and web-viewer have the capacity to display the menus along with nutritional and allergen information for items served for breakfast and lunch. This new feature will also be an additional communication piece between meals and offering opportunities to display school announcements and events, and more.

We are thrilled to use this opportunity to speak to your amazing students in the digital language that they speak so fluently. Visual stimulation and this new digital language from MealViewer is going to help our school administration, and specifically our school nutrition team, connect with our amazing students to create a more vibrant and healthy school environment. We are hopeful that this useful tool will help foster more conversation about making healthy choices, balanced diet discussions, and much more! Help us start the conversation with your students about eating well. Visit the website  or download the free app from the app store.

District Nutrition Director
